Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, dumping ghost story which
was aired on television and through film as this could encourage
superstition that does not help build community berproduktif, including
resolving problems with a scientific approach.
He said the dumping of ghost stories based on myths contributed to the attack hysteria among the Malay girls.
"Film and television drama tells the story of ghosts is encouraging superstition with no basis at all.
"We, especially Muslims, need to know that only God has power over everything," said Dr Mahathir (pictured) was quoted Sunday News today.
"For example, in the medical field, people have the so-called 'peripheral vision'.
"So a group of female students in a dormitory that talked about ghosts will see a scan of the board or the shadows through the eyes and hit the tail of hysterical attacks," he said in his speech at the Ninth Convocation of Universiti Malaysia Terengganu in Kuala Terengganu yesterday.
Dr Mahathir said Malaysians must now focus on finding more scientific method to solve the problem.
"To move and to move forward, we need to apply more scientific way of thinking in solving problems, not dependent on the healer.
"We must accept the fact that we can not treat people with incense," he said, adding, "once we have no other way could be to use the instrument."
"Before, if our heart, our hearts go shopping to die.
"Now, if our heart, we can side (for surgery) because it is a machine heart and lungs. That is scientific, "he said.
In the meantime, the National Fatwa Council wants the government to discuss the issue of dumping a movie or drama ghost for fear can distort the faith of Islam, especially among teenagers.
Members of the council committee, Datuk Mohamad Shukri Mohamad said he wants the government to detail the control of film or drama is clearly based ghost and promote superstitious nonsense.

The main thing today is a very pervert the Muslims of this country are the films that tell ghost things superstition and idolatry. This film is absurd and the film that made the Muslims of this country are not afraid of ghosts and the fear of God. That is why many Muslims are now daring to do things forbidden by God. I could not agree what was said by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that the film carries the belief that one and can not be proved by science.
Good as the film suggests that those who possessed or disturbed ghost referred to the DJ or the religion. But unfortunately, the play depicted fiqiyah Ustaz or the extreme and very pervert such as the word of God out of light, a flash of light or the like. This is very distorted and not correct all that is described by the ghost movie.
Recent film Ghost ride on a bicycle gets warm when being criticized by religious people and communities that it can be damaging the faith and made a picture of insulting Islam. Being the party's responsibility has the power to censor films that should make penilitian. If there is a movie that is contrary to Islam or the moral community, the film preferably is blocked and not published. Make the religion as a reference when there are matters that are not known to the penal censorship.
Another thing that is rarely mentioned and disputed by the people that dress does not portray the actor who mostly as a good Muslim. Some artists of this country's Muslim artist dressed in sexy losers Hoollywood or mobile phones. How do artists want to show good example to their fans because they themselves have the character far from an Islamic manner. Sometimes they reflect Islamic films and they only cover private parts in the play dressed, but they are actually acting out hipokrik.
I assert here, not just ghost film only needs to be cleaned from the country's film industry, but also moral and clothing artists need to be cleaned from the film world. If this is all beautiful, then surely all the messages or objectives presented in the film will be more effective and more influential to educate this country is being swept away most deceived by the devil.
